Fahadh Faasil Opens Up About the Failure of ‘Trance’

One of the most hyped films of Fahadh Faasil’s career was the release of 2020. After seven years, the film directed by Anwar Rasheed had a lot of hype before its release. Fahadh’s look in the film was also discussed in a big way. But the film failed to get the expected success at the box office.

Fahadh said that the films he was most looking forward to were Kumbalangi Nights, Varathan and Trance, of which Kumbalangi and Varathan were successful. Fahad said he believed Trance had failed because it criticized religion. Fahad said this in an interview with Galata Plus.

We have a gut feeling that certain films will be successful as soon as we commit. I have felt that way in some films. Kumbalangi Nights and Varathan are films that felt like that. It was successful. But the film Trance was a failure despite the gut feeling.

It seems to me that trance failed because it criticized religion. It was one of those films that I had hope for. It was a big budget movie. The success or failure of the film does not affect me, but I demand that the producer recovers the budget. That was not the case with Trance.

Ayub’s book was a film that many people had doubts about before its release. Many people thought it was a religious film. But religious only in that name. There is no other connection,’ said Fahad.
