Tourists this summer are not satisfied with the food offer in the center of Split.

They say it’s monotonous and overpriced, but what’s on the plate gets a passing grade. They confirmed this for Slobodna Dalmacija Mariam i Linatwenty-three-year-old girls from Denmark who first arrived in Split six days ago.

As a Muslim woman, it is difficult for me to find food that suits me. No halal optionsbut the seafood we could eat was good,” says Mariam.

The women and men of Split are somewhat unpleasant”, say the interlocutors. “Staring. People like to watch. When we see how they look at us, they don’t seem friendly to usbut when we talk to them they are different”, they say.

The category that the Danish women rated the lowest is cleanliness.

In comparison with Denmark, Split received a barely passing grade, slightly better than 50 percent, ‘passing’. And throwing leftover food and drinks around the bins and leaving waste next to the bins because it is too big is a burden for the tourists themselves.

So, the cleanliness is not like in Denmark, but that’s why the prices are.

“The prices are high. Maybe because it’s the peak of the season,” says Lina.

We booked the hotel in advance. If we had made a reservation a few days before arrival, it would have been different. We used the Uber app, so we had no problems with taxi prices,” explains Mariam.
The sea and beaches, of course, received the highest rating.

The beaches have too many stones, so it’s not pleasant to walk, says Mariam, who also pointed out Marjan because in Denmark “everything is flat”. There is no such thing at home, he says.

They do not have the same opinion about whether they would visit Split again, but they agree that they would not come in August. Mariam would not return, and Lina would come in September when the temperatures are lower and there are less crowds.

It’s hot, but nice. It was worth coming,” Lina concluded, writes Slobodna Dalmacija.
