“FFVII Remake” PC version will be listed for pricing, but it has caused dissatisfaction with European and American players

The PC version of “FFVII REMAKE INTERGRADE” will be available soon, but the pricing has aroused heated discussion. (Reversed from Epic Games Store)

Square Enix announced at the TGA Awards a few days ago that the PC version of “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE” will be officially released on the 16th of this month. In addition to not being sold on Steam but exclusively owned by the Epic Games Store, the game’s pricing has also aroused heated discussion.

According to foreign media reports, “FFVII REMAKE INTERGRADE” will be priced at US$70 (approximately NT$1,950). Although the PS5 version previously sold is also at the same price, on PC, the current 3A-level game masterpiece is still priced at US$60 (approximately NT$1,950). NT$1,670), which triggered heated discussions in the European and American communities. Some players found that if they were to buy in the UK, it would even cost 70 pounds (about 93 US dollars / NT$2,570). This also made many European players dissatisfied. “PC games have increased by more than 200% in 10 years. I hope Salaries can be increased by the same amount.” “This price is too crazy. Is it so difficult to set a reasonable price in Europe?”

Since the launch of new-generation consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the price of the game has begun to change. Companies including Activision, Take-Two and Sony have all adjusted the 3A masterpiece of the new console version to $70. Last year, Bloomberg reported that Sony originally hoped to raise the price of 3A games to a higher price, but it was worried that players would be dissatisfied with it.

As for the PC masterpiece, the current price is still more than 60 US dollars, but Square Enix, in addition to “FFVII REMAKE INTERGRADE”, another 3A-level work “Forspoken” expected to be sold on Steam, also set a price of 70 US dollars. Square Enix attempts to make the game price level of all platforms tend to be consistent, but it may also face a rebound from more players.
