Enppi defeated Al-Ahly Bank by five goals to one in a match held at Cairo Stadium in the 21st round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Enppi quintet scored in the match: Modi Nasser, who scored two goals, Ahmed Amin “Qafa,” Mustafa Dowidar, and Youssef Labib, while Yaw Anwar scored the National Bank’s only goal.

The loss is the largest for Al-Ahly Bank since its promotion to the Egyptian Premier League in the 2020/2021 season, while Enppi achieved the second largest win in its history in the league after defeating Al-Nasr by six goals to no avail.

The victory raised Enppi’s balance to point 32 in fourth place, while National Bank’s balance stopped at point 18 in 15th place.

Enppi started with an attacking trio, while Yaw Anwar led the National Bank formation.

Match events

Ishaqo Yakubu suffered an early injury in the 18th minute and was replaced by Assem Salah.

National Bank took the lead with the first goal in the 25th minute through Yaw Anwar with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.

In the 43rd minute, Qafa equalized for Enppi, but his goal was not counted due to an offside situation.

In the 52nd minute, in stoppage time of the first half, Qafa returned to score, but his goal was counted this time by using a cross inside the penalty area by Modi Nasser.

In the second half, Nasser scored the second goal for Enppi in the 55th minute with a header after a cross from Mostafa Shakshak.

Nasser scored the third goal for Enppi in the 74th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.

Mustafa Dowidar added the fourth goal for Enppi in the 88th minute after three Enppi players were alone with goalkeeper Hassan Shaheen, who blocked the ball and it bounced towards Dowidar, who shot a missile into the net.

Substitute Youssef Labib ended Enppi’s five-goal in the 97th minute after a forehand ball from goalkeeper Bodi Samir that the defense and goalkeeper mishandled, so Labib scored the ball with a header.

Buddy Samir became the first goalkeeper in the Egyptian League to score a goal since the beginning of the current season.

Enppi will play its next match against Modern Future on Thursday, May 16, and National Bank will also play against Future, but on Friday, May 10.
