“Finance” reveals details of the salary increase and new appointments for doctors, nurses, and teachers

Ahmed El-Sayed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, revealed the details of the social package launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to ease the burdens on citizens.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance confirmed, during a telephone conversation with journalist Ahmed Moussa, presenter of the “On My Responsibility” program broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, today, Wednesday, that President Sisi directed the implementation of the largest social package worth 180 billion pounds, and raised the tax exemption limit for workers in the public and private sectors by 33%. He explained that the wages of state workers and economic bodies have been increased to a minimum ranging from 1,000 to 1,200 pounds.

He pointed out that 15 billion pounds were allocated in additional increases for doctors, nurses, and teachers, 8.1 billion pounds were allocated to approve an additional increase in the wages of teachers in pre-university education, 1.6 billion pounds were allocated to approve an additional increase for faculty members and their assistants in universities and institutes, and 4.5 billion pounds were allocated to approve An additional increase for members of the medical professions and nursing staff, adding that the increase reaches 100% in the nightly and overnight allowance for members of the medical professions.

He pointed out that 6 billion pounds had been allocated to appoint 120,000 members of the medical profession, teachers and workers in administrative agencies, adding that there was a shortage in educational and medical services, so their numbers were increased to provide a high-level service.

He noted that the package included a 15% increase in Takaful and Karama pensions at a cost of 5.5 billion pounds, explaining that 5 million families benefit from “Solidarity and Karama.”

He continued that the package also included raising the tax exemption limit for all state employees in the government and the public and private sectors by 33%, from 45 thousand pounds to 60 thousand pounds.

Regarding the position of wages in the private sector, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance said that the National Wages Council is concerned with studying private sector wages to improve them to be closer to increases in the government sector.

He revealed that the Ministry of Finance is currently drafting a law on increasing pensioners and wage increases before directing the House of Representatives to approve it.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance denied that the social package decisions were related to any future economic matters, pointing out that salaries would be disbursed with the new increase, starting from the March salary.
