1- Tomiyoka (Japan)
As of 2010, the population of this Japanese city was approximately 15,000. Then came the 2011 tsunami and the leak from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. This caused the radiation to spread. People started fleeing from here for fear of radiation. Only 58-year-old Nao Matsumura remains in the city.
2- Monovi (Nebraska US)
Monovi means flower. The first building built here in 1902 was a post office. In 1967 the post office closed. People kept leaving in search of better jobs and stability. Only a couple were left here. After the death of her husband in 2004, she lived here alone with her wife.
3- Villa Ipequine (Argentina)
The city was located in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 1920s. It was a resting place for those going to the capital, Buenos Aires. It was completely destroyed by the catastrophic floods of 1985. All the people left the city and became desolate. After this, in 2009 Pablo Djokovic returned to live here.
4- Bonanza (Colorado US)
With the discovery of silver mines, the place became inhabited. More than a thousand people lived here in the 1880s. Later, silver mining gradually declined and people left the city. In 2010, there were only 16 people here.
5- KAS (New Zealand)
When the city was founded in 1910, it was home to about 800 people. But today there are only five houses and one person here. Barry is called Drummond. Name of the only occupant of the castle. He is an employee of Kiwi-Railways. He is in charge of overseeing cases in the railways. Barry says he will never leave Cass.
