Fortnite Announces Battle Pass Price Hike and Fortnite Crew Subscription Changes
Fortnite Battle Pass Price Increase and Crew Subscription Changes
Fortnite has announced its first price increase for the Battle Pass. Starting December 1, 2024, the price will rise from 950 to 1000 V-Bucks. This is $8.99 / £6.99, the cost of purchasing 1,000 V-Bucks. The increase translates to $0.45 / £0.35. This change will come right before the end of the current season, Chapter 2 Remix, which concludes on November 30.
In addition to the Battle Pass price change, Fortnite will update the Fortnite Crew subscription. As of December 1, the subscription will include access to battle passes for new modes, such as Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite, without raising the subscription fee of $11.99 / £9.99. Subscribers can level up all three battle passes while playing any of the modes. This means players can earn rewards from these modes even if they primarily play Battle Royale.
The changes have mixed implications for players. While they offer more content for those interested in all modes, players focused solely on Battle Royale may find the extra rewards less appealing. The price increase and new subscription offerings suggest Fortnite aims to encourage players to opt for the more expensive monthly subscription. Most seasons last about 75 days, requiring players to subscribe for multiple months to access all rewards.
Overall, these updates aim to enhance the gaming experience for fans while balancing player interests across different modes.
