French Game ‘Stray Cat Stray’ to Be Adapted as Annapurna Animation’s Next Film

The French independent game development team’s third-person adventure game will be brought to the big screen by Annapurna Games, a division of Annapurna Pictures, which last year released the critically acclaimed “Stray”. Baird also revealed that the development team at BlueTwelve Studios described their game as having a “hopepunk” vibe, a term he found fitting for its optimism and resistance to conventional narratives. “If we can adapt this game successfully, it will be the ultimate hopepunk movie,” Baird said.

Adapting a game into a film is always a difficult task, as it requires staying true to the source material while also catering to a wider audience. However, Annapurna Animation Studio is determined to tackle this challenge in their upcoming film based on “Stray Cat Stray”.
