Basil Joseph, a renowned actor among Malayalees, has spoken candidly about his struggles with inferiority complex during the filming of his debut movie, Tira.

Basil’s Journey in the Film Industry

Basil Joseph began his film career as an assistant director to Vineeth Srinivasan in the 2013 film Tira, starring Dhyan Srinivasan. He later made his directorial debut with the 2015 film Kunhiramayanam, which also starred Dhyan.

Basil’s Gratitude Towards Dhyan Sreenivasan

Basil expressed his gratitude towards Dhyan, stating that he was a person who had supported him a lot during the filming of Tira. He also acknowledged that he had a lot of cynicism and complicity to begin with and doubted whether the film would be okay.

“If you ask what the relationship is between us, he is the one who has supported me a lot during the film Thera. So I mean a lot to him. It means a lot to me too,” Basil said in an interview with Club FM Kerala.

Overcoming Inferiority Complex Through Meditation

Basil revealed that he struggled with an inferiority complex during the initial stages of his career. He felt overwhelmed by the bright and brilliant people around him and doubted his abilities.

“I am an assistant director in search. Dhyana is the hero of it. Thira is his first film and mine. I had a lot of inferiority complex at first. I had my doubts that the movie would be okay,” Basil said.

However, he found solace in meditation, which helped him to relate to others and overcome his insecurities.
