Gangwon Winter Tourism Promotion Exhibition Draws Crowds in Sejong

The Gangwon Winter Tourism Promotion Exhibition, held at Plaza Jungang-dong of the Sejong Government Complex on the 14th, drew a large crowd of departing residents, local residents, and Sejong public officials. This event was part of the Gangwon One Team Love Campaign, aiming to promote winter tourism in the region. Local Marine Products and Tourism Resources Promoted

The exhibition featured participation from six cities and counties on the east coast of the province, including Gangneung, Donghae, Samcheok, Sokcho, Goseong, and Yangyang-gun, along with the National Federation of Cooperative Fisheries and six fisheries cooperatives in the east coast of the province. Together, they promoted representative local marine products and presented local tourism resources and holiday timetables. This simultaneous tourism promotion exhibition achieved a ‘killing two birds with one stone’ effect, enhancing the overall promotional impact.

Region-Specific Attractions Highlighted

Each participating city and county highlighted unique attractions and offerings. Gangneung presented detailed information on the region’s representative foods and attractions under the theme ‘Hot Place 10’. Donghae, Samcheok, and Sokcho attracted attention by providing promotional materials detailing transportation and local landmarks for major tourist destinations. Goseong focused on leisure-themed content for family, lovers, and friends, under the slogan ‘Meet nature and embrace the sea’, while Yangyang emphasized smart tourism with app-based reservations and event participation.

Focus on Winter Holiday Mecca Hwacheon-gun

Notably, Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do’s winter holiday mecca, participated in the promotional event and showcased the Sancheoneo Festival held every January, the Sancheoneo Park Golf Course, and the Bisugumi Trekking Course.

The event was well received by citizens, who enjoyed receiving tourism promotion brochures prepared by each city and county. It sparked enthusiasm and excitement for winter travel trips in Gangwon-do.
