According to ‘Ofinet’, an oil price information service of the Korea National Oil Corporation on the 9th, the average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide in the first week of January was calculated to be 1622.4 won per liter, down 3.8 won per liter from the previous week. recorded

By region, Seoul showed a decrease of 1.1 won per liter to 1690.4 won, and Busan gasoline price recorded the lowest price at 1591.3 won, down 4.7 won from last week.

By brand, SK Energy was the most expensive at 1634.3 won per liter, and thrifty gas station gasoline was the cheapest at 1594.9 won per liter.

Gasoline prices recently rose in succession last month and reached a record high by breaking the weekly average of 1,800 won for the first time in seven years since 2015.

In particular, the downward trend has been steadily continuing, such as 29.1 won, 9.8 won, 13 won, and 15 won, after dropping 90.4 won in the first week right after the fuel tax cut on the 12th of last month, but the decline seems to have slowed recently.

Here, the international oil price, which had been constantly fluctuating, turned to an upward trend again.

In the case of Dubai crude imported to Korea, the average price was $77.9 per barrel, down $1 from last week. In addition, the international oil price, which had soared for a while, also rose 0.8 USD to 91.2 USD.

In response, the Korea National Oil Corporation explained that “international oil prices are on the rise due to a decrease in US crude inventories and production disruptions in some OPEC countries.”
