Gasoline price rises for 6th week… 1,762.8 won, up 30 won per liter

Domestic gasoline prices have again risen sharply.

According to Korea National Oil Corporation’s oil price information service Opinet, the average nationwide gasoline selling price in the fourth week of October was 1,762.8 won per liter, up 30.3 won from a week ago.

It was the sixth straight week of upswing and the highest in seven years since the fourth week of October 2014.

By region, Seoul, the highest price region, recorded 1,840.8 won, up 32.2 won from the previous week, and Busan, the lowest price region, rose 26.4 won to 1,741.5 won.

As gasoline prices continue to rise in the aftermath of a surge in international oil prices, the government has decided to cut the fuel tax by 20% for six months from the 12th of next month.
