Several tour dates for former Black Midi frontman Geordie Greep have been cancelled following an allegation of sexual misconduct made against the singer in Vancouver, British Columbia, on October 8, Pitchfork reported. While ticket buyers for upcoming shows in Idaho, Utah, and Colorado received refunds, the singer maintained his innocence on stage before performing solo, telling concertgoers that the accusation stemmed from a complete misunderstanding at a house party.
Flyer Handed Out At Vancouver Venue Sparks Allegations And Solo Show
The controversy began outside the Pearl venue in Vancouver, where an attendee handed out flyers claiming Greep had committed an act of sexual misconduct on the morning of October 8. Greep arrived at the venue an hour later than scheduled without his backing band and addressed the accusations directly from the stage.
So essentially what happened last night, me and some of the band we went out to some bars, we went out, we met people, and it ended up in a situation where, really late at a house party, I got the wrong end of the stick with someone who was there, and I made a move, and it didn’t come off. I really quickly apologized, and it was a complete misunderstanding on my part, and I felt extremely bad, I feel extremely sorry, and extremely upset about the whole situation. I would never rape a woman. I’m not a rapist. It’s not how that went down.
Geordie Greep
Greep explained to the audience that he chose to perform alone so he would not force his bandmates to play under the circumstances. He also stated that the proceeds from the Vancouver performance would be donated to a local organization supporting victims of sexual violence.
Venues Cancel Boise Through Omaha Tour Stops As Refunds Are Issued
In the wake of the Vancouver incident, venues across the United States began pulling Greep from their schedules. As of October 10, performances in Boise, Salt Lake City, Boulder, Denver, and Omaha were either listed as cancelled or removed entirely from venue websites, according to Pitchfork.

Greep has not issued a formal public statement regarding the cancellations, and his representatives have not yet responded to inquiries from music publications. While his North American tour status remains turbulent, his scheduled European tour is still set to begin on November 1.
