ATEEZ and BE:FIRST Collaborate on New Song “Royal”

ATEEZ, an eight-member Korean boy band, has gained immense global popularity since their debut in Korea in 2018. Their 10th mini album, “GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1,” released in Korea in May this year, reached No. 2 on the US Billboard’s main chart, the Billboard 200, and No. 1 on the Oricon weekly album rankings.

As of last month, the band had performed 13 shows in 10 cities, starting in Tacoma and then moving on to Oakland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Arlington, Duluth, New York, Washington DC, Toronto, and Rosemont, attracting an audience of over 200,000 people, once again demonstrating their popularity and influence locally.

ATEEZ and the seven-member dance and vocal group BE:FIRST have released their collaborative song “Royal” worldwide. The official lyric video, which expresses the worldview of the song, was also released. The released lyric video features lyrics produced by ATEEZ’s MINGI.

The latest work, “Royal,” features a heavy sound and a tempo that varies from slow to fast, and expresses his own idea of what “nobility (Royal)” is through aggressive lyrics. Various products and advertisements have been produced using playing cards as a motif.

This collaborative song “Royal” is the first since “Hush-Hush” was released digitally under the name of BE:FIRST x ATEEZ on Monday, July 1st. Since the release of “Hush-Hush,” the two artists have deepened their friendship, with the pair even performing as the opening act at ATEEZ’s Los Angeles concert.

ATEEZ to Release Fourth Single in Japan, “Birthday”

ATEEZ will also release their fourth single in Japan, “Birthday,” on Wednesday, October 2nd. The title track “Birthday” was written specifically for this original Japanese single, and contains the message of facing anything fearlessly and enjoying life like it’s your birthday every day.

The second track will be a collaboration between ATEEZ and BE:FIRST, “Royal.” As MINGI’s liner notes make clear, he participated in producing the song, and with a heavy sound and a tempo that varies slowly and fast, he expresses his own idea of what “royalty” means through aggressive lyrics.

The third track, “Forevermore,” was written specifically for this Japanese original single, just like “Birthday.” This mid-tempo ballad begins with a beautiful piano melody and expresses love for the person who will walk together into the future.
