[디지털투데이 AI리포터] IT media Tech Crunch reported on the 25th (local time) that American space startup Gravitics has signed a contract with the US Space Force to build an orbital outpost.

“We have signed a $1.7 million contract with the Space Force to develop an orbital platform that will enable a new type of tactical response space mission,” said Gravitics co-founder Mike DeRosa.

Under this agreement, Gravitics plans to collaborate with several companies, including Rocket Lab, True Anomaly, and Space Exploration Engineering. The details of the cooperation plan were not disclosed, but it is expected that these companies will work on the development of hardware and spacesuits.

Previously, Gravitics received an investment of $20 million (about 27.484 billion won) to help develop the StarMax space station modular unit. The volume of each modular unit of the space station is said to be 400 m³. At the time, Gravitics claimed that its adaptive technology would help usher in a new era of spaceflight.

Meanwhile, Rocket Lab and True Anomaly, known as Gravitics partners, signed a separate contract to deliver the Victus Haze Tactical Response Space (TacRS) mission earlier this month.
