Eight people were killed and nine injured in six armed attacks recorded last Friday, March 29, in Irapuato and Celaya, Guanajuato, according to the record of facts of the State Attorney General’s Office.
In Irapuato neither the religious events because it was Good Friday nor the Strawberry Fair stopped the violent events. In four points in the rural area, the shootings left six people dead and nine injured.
The events led to the mobilization of municipal police, military, state forces and the National Guard during the night, as well as ambulances that transported the injured to various hospitals.
In the San Roque community, in Irapuato, two men identified as Juan Daniel “N” and Alexis “N” died from injuries caused by projectiles fired from a firearm; in the El Coecillo Community, Valentín “N” was shot dead; In the Santa Elena community, Fernando “N” and José Juan “N” were executed and three more men were injured in a shootout.
In addition, In the Guayabo Community, a man named José Antonio “N” was killed, and four men were hit by bullets.
While, in Celaya, two men were killed with firearms in the Arboledas and Prolongación Emiliano Zapata neighborhoods.
The prosecution indicated that Criminal Investigation agents and field experts initiated investigative acts under the leadership of the Public Ministry.
