Silakaktiņš, along with costume designer Jurate Silakaktiņa and stage designer Ivars Noviks, aims to capture the essence of the beloved Latvian work. “Rudolf Blaumanis’ ‘Skroder Days in Silmaci’ is more than just a play; it’s a cultural touchstone,” Silakaktiņš stated. “It’s a joy and a challenge to bring to life the iconic oven scene, the spirited exchanges, the wedding festivities, the love, the humor, and the authentic Latvian spirit.”
