The winner of the Gold Glove Award is determined through a voting process that involves 30 team managers, six coaches per team, and the defensive indicators of the Association for American Baseball Research (SABR). The final result is based on 75% of the coaching staff’s votes and 25% of the SABR defensive index. It is worth mentioning that players are not allowed to vote for their own team.
