Han Dong-hoon, the Minister of Justice, came to the government audit for the first time since he took office.

There was a war of words without concessions with opposition lawmakers who said they were carrying out a vindictive investigation.

In addition, a war of nerves continued over the reduction of the investigative powers of the prosecution.

Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon, who received his first national audit since taking office, opened the door for the Democratic Party of Korea as he entered the National Assembly.

This directly refutes the claim that CEO Lee Jae-myung is looking into revenge.

“Many of them are raised during the inter-party primary of the Democratic Party, etc. … It is a structure where a frame of its own of revenge or targeted investigations has not been established.”

Even in the state audit, Minister Han did not back down, saying, “The prosecution will make a fair judgment.”

“I believe we can respond by exercising the right to defend in the same judicial system as other people.”

Debate continued over the reduction of the investigative powers of the prosecution.

When it was highlighted that the prosecution’s investigation into crimes against people’s livelihood and the recovery of criminal profits was insufficient, the Democratic Party responded by reducing the investigative powers of the prosecution to avoid the investigation.

“I want to appeal once again to the fact that it has become very difficult to investigate directly into the lives of the people because you have done an ‘examination’.”

Regarding the controversial caricature ‘Yunseok Train’, Minister Han replied, “Freedom of expression should be guaranteed, but if it had been judged, it would not have given an award.”

In addition, he announced that he would be wearing a new electronic anklet with 15 layers of inner material for sex offenders with a high risk of recidivism, such as Kim Geun-sik, who will be released soon.

At the National Supervisory Service, there was also a war of nerves between the ruling and opposition parties over whether the sports facilities installed by former Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae in Moon Jae-in’s government were for ministers or for female workers.
