[아이뉴스24 송대성 기자] The 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou have been postponed to next year.
China’s state-run media CCTV reported on the 6th that “The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that the 19th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Hangzhou from September 10 to 25, will be postponed.”
The decision to postpone this time appears to be due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) micron mutation.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, is only 175 kilometers away from the city of Shanghai, which is under blockade, so there have been concerns.
Reuters also reported that the Hangzhou Asian Games have been postponed by one year to 2023 due to the spread of COVID-19.
OCA announced the official postponement and announced that the new opening date would be revealed at a later date.
