While the six-month-old baby of Nergis and Cumali Bakkayli, who live in Antakya, was being treated at a hospital in Kahramanmaras, the city was hit by devastating earthquakes. The baby was first transferred to Mersin city hospital, and then to Selcuk University Medical Faculty hospital.

The Bakkayli couple who survived the earthquake started searching for the missing girl.

The baby, who had bleeding in the brain due to premature birth, gained four kilograms with neurosurgery and treatment and recovered. The hospital staff used their own resources to reach the baby’s family, who left for Mersin after the earthquake.

“Before the earthquake, my daughter was in the hospital. After the earthquake, we couldn’t hear anything about her. I tried so hard, I fought, but I couldn’t hear from your daughter. Financial difficulties were added to that. The doctor in Konya called and said that our daughter is there and that her condition is very good. God bless them all. We are trying to survive as a family. Don’t let anyone experience this pain,” said the baby’s father.
