Kottayam: The appointment of Kottayam MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan’s son Arjun Radhakrishnan as the state spokesperson of the Youth Congress was highly controversial. Shortly after the order was issued, controversy erupted and the appointment was put on hold. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan came up with the response on this issue. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan says he has no role in appointing his son Arjun Radhakrishnan as the state spokesperson of the Youth Congress. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan added that the incident is seen as an internal issue of the Youth Congress. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan clarified that he is not the one to answer in controversies.

Meanwhile, Youth Congress state president Shafi Parambil said the appointment was made without the knowledge of the state committee. Shafiparambil had stated that there were protests against the appointment and did not agree with that approach. Shafiparambil said the new appointments were frozen after the Center was asked to do so. The protests against Thiruvanchoor also show the new politics that has emerged in Kottayam.
