Hasaranga will not play against India; The player who got Rs 10.75 crore in IPL! | Hasaranga News

Lucknow: Sri Lanka’s Vanindu Hasaranga, who was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10.75 crore in the star auction ahead of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), will not play in the Twenty20 series against India. Hasaranga has been ruled out of the India-Sri Lanka series starting in Lucknow tomorrow. Hasaranga suffered a setback when he was not released from Kovid during a tour of Australia. Hasaranga Kovid is also positive in the latest test.

Hasaranga was one of the three Sri Lankan players affected by Kovid during the Australian tour. The other two were Kushal Mendis and Binura Fernando. Hasaranga has not played in the last three matches of the five-match series following Kovid’s injury. In the first two matches, Hasaranga scored three for 38 and two for 33.

The absence of Hasaranga, who is also ranked second in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 bowlers’ rankings, is a major setback for the Sri Lankan team. Hasaranga’s all – round performance was notable when India toured Sri Lanka in July last year. Hasaranga has taken seven wickets in three Twenty20 matches. The player finished second in the rankings after the series.

English Summary: Wanindu Hasaranga yet to recover from Covid-19, to miss T20I series
