Heavy rain and gusts in Jeju… Many flights canceled | very economy

On the morning of the 5th, heavy rain and strong gusts (sudden winds) blew at Jeju International Airport, resulting in flight cancellations.

According to airlines, Korean Air canceled all 20 flights scheduled for departure and arrival this morning.

Asiana Airlines, T’Way, Air Busan, and Jin Air also canceled 24 flights scheduled to operate until the afternoon.

According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration, as of 7 a.m. on the same day, heavy rain warnings were issued for the mountains and southern middle mountains of Jeju Island, and heavy rain warnings were issued for the northern middle mountains, south and east, and Chuja Island. In addition, a strong wind warning has been issued in the mountains and middle mountains of Jeju Island, a strong wind warning in the rest of the island, and a storm warning in the coastal waters of Jeju Island.

Currently, due to the influence of low pressure moving northeast from the vicinity of the Shandong Peninsula in China, very heavy rain of around 30mm per hour is pouring down between mountainous and middle mountains, and around 15 to 20mm per hour in the south and east of Jeju Island.

The wind was also blowing strong, and strong wind warnings (mountain areas of Jeju Island, mid-mountainous areas in northern Jeju Island, mid-mountainous areas in southern Jeju Island) and strong wind warnings (western parts of Jeju Island, northern parts of Jeju Island, eastern parts of Jeju Island, southern parts of Jeju Island, and Chuja Island) have been issued.

The maximum instantaneous wind speed (secondary velocity) for each major point is 34.8m at Samgakbong Peak, 29.4m at Daeheul, 27.5m at Flow Rock, 25m at Sancheondan, 24.9m at Woljeong, and 24.2m at Nakcheon.
