Highlighting Malayalam Films and Mrinal Sen’s Works at Thiruvananthapuram Film Festival

Upcoming Film Festival in Thiruvananthapuram

A total of 12 Malayalam films, each based on thought-provoking themes such as individuals, suicide, body, identity and hope, are set to be showcased at the upcoming film festival in Thiruvananthapuram.

  • O.Baby: An action drama thriller film directed by Ranjan Pramod.
  • Kathal The Core: A hit film starring Mammootty and Jyotika, produced by Jio Baby and scripted by Paulson Skaria-Adarsh​​​​​​Sukumaran team.
  • Attam: Directed by Anand Ekarshi.
  • Waiting for Death: A film by Satish Babasenan, Santhosh Babasenan Ana Mona Lisa.
  • Sheherazada: A film directed by Vignesh P. Sasidharan.
  • Ennen: Directed by Shalini Ushadevi.
  • Neelmudi’s film: Directed by V. Sarathkumar.
  • B32 to 44: A film directed by Shruti Saranyam.
  • Five First Dates: Directed by Renoshan.
  • Apple Pattali: Directed by Gagan Dev.
  • Dayam: Directed by Prashant Vijay.
  • Valasai Paravas: Directed by Sunil Malur.

Mrinal Sen Birth Centenary Film Festival

In commemorating Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary, the film festival will also feature five of his iconic films, including Regards, Bhuvan Shome, Calcutta 71, Ek Din Prati Din, and Ekaler Shantane.

An exhibition showcasing the life and works of Mrinal Sen will be organized at the Tagore Theatre, offering attendees a glimpse into the legendary filmmaker’s legacy.

Thiruvananthapuram: 12 Malayalam films based on themes like individuals, suicide, body, identity and hope will come to the film festival.

Films like action drama thriller O.Baby written and directed by Ranjan Pramod, Mammootty-Jyotika film Kathal The Core, which became a hit in the theatres, and Attam, directed by Anand Ekarshi, are shown in this category.

Kathal is produced by Jio Baby and scripted by Paulson Skaria-Adarsh​​​​​Sukumaran team. Satish Babasenan, Santhosh Babasenan Ana Mona Lisa Film Waiting for Death, Vignesh P. Films like Sasidharan’s Sheherazada, Shalini Ushadevi’s Ennen and Anand Ekarshi’s Attam will also be screened in the Malayalam Cinema Today category.

V. Sarathkumar Neelmudi’s film and B32 to 44 will also be shown in this category. The film is directed by Shruti Saranyam, who won a special award at the State Film Awards. Movies like Five First Dates directed by Renoshan, Apple Pattali by Gagan Dev, Dayam directed by Prashant Vijay and Valasai Paravas by Sunil Malur will also be shown in this category.
