Holiday April 30 – May 1: The Prime Minister closed the holiday for 5 days

The Government Office has just issued document No. 2450/VPCP-KGVX dated April 12, 2024 conveying the Prime Minister’s instructions on exchanging working days on the occasion of Victory Day, April 30, and National Day. Labor Day May 1, 2024.

Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in document No. 1511/LDTBXH-CATLD dated April 11, 2024 on the proposal to swap working days for the April 30 Victory Day holiday and International Day May 1, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal in the above document of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on exchanging working days for the Victory Day holiday on May 30. 4 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024.

Agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange appropriate working departments to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people, in which attention should be paid to appointing staff. Ministries and civil servants are on duty to handle sudden and unexpected tasks that may occur.

The Prime Minister authorized the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to announce the exchange and holiday of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2024 to agencies and units. , businesses and workers.

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reported to the Prime Minister a plan to swap normal working days on Monday, April 29, during the April 30-May 1 holiday this year and organize a make other compensation.

Specifically, for civil servants and public employees, this working day will be changed to make up work on Saturday, May 4. In such an exchange, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 27 to Wednesday, May 1.

For employees, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs encourages employers to apply the holiday period from April 30 to May 1 as prescribed for civil servants and public employees. The state labor management agency stated requirements to ensure full implementation of benefits for workers according to the provisions of law, encouraging agreements that are more beneficial to workers.
