Homeplus ESG Committee launched… Promote eco-friendly packaging and good consumption

Homeplus established the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Committee on the 5th and selected projects to be focused on for the next five years.

The Homeplus ESG Committee is the highest decision-making body related to Homeplus’ ESG management. Homeplus President Lee Je-hoon will be the chairperson, and the committee will be joined by vice president Yeon Tae-joon and heads of each division.

The ESG committee selected Green Package (eco-friendly packaging), good consumption, education/campaign, carbon neutrality (energy saving)/sharing/co-prosperity, etc. as ESG projects that Homeplus will focus on for the next five years. To this end, the company plans to reduce the amount of plastic used in packaging for private label (PB) products and develop donation-only products.

As part of energy saving, it plans to install a total of 2,000 electric vehicle charging stations at all stores by 2023. President Lee said, “This year will be the first year of ESG management where all business strategies are focused on ESG.
