‘Twin Peaks’ Available to Binge-Watch on Mubi

All seasons of the iconic television series Twin Peaks are now available on Mubi. The show,which premiered in 1990,quickly gained a devoted following with its surreal blend of murder mystery and supernatural elements.
Co-created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, twin Peaks stars Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, who investigates the murder of teenager Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). The series also features Sherilyn Fenn and Lara Flynn Boyle.
As Agent Cooper delves deeper into the case, he uncovers the dark secrets and strange phenomena that permeate the town. Known for its eccentric characters, melodramatic storylines, and uncanny atmosphere, Twin Peaks quickly became a smash hit and remains a cult favourite.
Critical acclaim for the series has been widespread. The Buffalo News called it “refreshing, unsettling, funny and mystifying,” while Vox described ‘The Return’ as feeling “like a gift.”
Rolling Stone hailed ‘The Return’ as “unmatched in the medium’s history,” and The Atlantic noted that “Twin Peaks remains the nightmare fuel it always has been.” The Guardian went so far as to call the revival “perfect” and possibly even better than the original.
The availability of Twin Peaks on Mubi comes after the death of David Lynch,who died earlier this year at the age of 78. Lynch’s death was attributed to cardiac arrest resulting from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Lynch, also known for films like “Mulholland Drive” and “The Elephant Man,” had been housebound with emphysema after years of smoking. A death certificate confirmed COPD as an underlying condition.
