The match witnessed Mahrez scoring a goal from a penalty kick in the first half. To achieve a unique record in the history of the Al-Ahly team, since the implementation of the professional system in 2008-2009.

The Algerian magician became the first Ahly player to score 10 or more goals and make as many assists, in just one sporting season, in the Saudi Professional League competition.

Mahrez reached his tenth goal against Damac, with 12 assists, meaning that he had 22 scoring contributions, during the 29 matches he played in the Saudi Roshan League competition, in the current sports season.

“Strange” anger and sadness from Riyad Mahrez

Despite this unique number; However, Riyad Mahrez appeared very “angry and sad” in the Al-Ahly club’s first football team match against Damac.

Mahrez appeared while heading to the dressing room, after the whistle blew at the end of the first half, speaking angrily with a number of his teammates in the Al-Ahly team. At their head is Brazilian Roberto Firmino.

The player continued these strange behaviors when he was substituted from the field in the 80th minute. He left the green rectangle with his face on the ground, with signs of extreme sadness.

Not only that… Mahrez threw the “compression bandage” he was wearing, in an angry and violent manner. Which confirms his feeling of dissatisfaction.

It is not clear; Is Riyad Mahrez “angry and sad” at one of his teammates, his young German coach Matthias Jassel, or something that happened against Damac, or because of his poor performance in the match in general?!

The truth is that Mahrez never appeared against Damak, except in the shot of the goal he scored from the penalty spot. This match will be a new episode in the player’s declining performance since he joined Al-Ahly last summer, despite his somewhat new numbers.
