I have come to create the destiny of the people of the country: Prime Minister

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said that not as the Prime Minister, but as the daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she is working to create the destiny of the people of this country and give them a better life.

He said this while unveiling the inauguration plaque of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-1 construction work in Purbachal sector four of Rupganj, Narayanganj district on Thursday (February 2).

Expressing gratitude to the people of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said, with your courage and cooperation, I announced the Padma Bridge with my own funding. There were many conspiracies about this bridge. We were accused of corruption. We are here to serve the people. Servants of the people. I have come to create people’s destiny. I have not come to play with people’s fate. I have come to give to the people. So there is no question of corruption here.’

“The father of the nation sacrificed his life for the people of this country. He whom the people took arms and shed fresh blood to liberate the country. I will improve that independent Bangladesh, what is the corruption here. What matters is how much we can give to the people of Bangladesh. We challenged their allegations of corruption. With that Padma Bridge, we have shown the world that Bangladesh can.”

At that time, he said, ‘I am the daughter of the father of the nation and my job is to change the fate of the people of this country. That’s what I’m doing.’

Sheikh Hasina said, “No matter what the movement is, as long as the people are with us, we will work for their welfare.”

Informing about reducing the poverty rate from 40 percent to 20 percent, he said, “We have given vaccines to the people of the country free of cost during the corona virus.” Even many rich countries could not provide vaccines at that time.

At that time, he called the construction of the country’s first subway as another milestone in the country’s history. He expressed sincere thanks to the Japanese government saying that this construction work will continue with the help of JICA.

The prime minister said that there will be no public inconvenience during the construction of the underground metro rail, and the construction work will be carried out using modern automatic methods. The subway system will be state-of-the-art.

Awami League said that AKA is fulfilling the manifestos given during the election, the party president said, we are implementing all our promises to AKA. We have implemented concept 21. We are also implementing the promises made in the 2018 election manifesto. Awami League keeps its promise.

Stating that 46 projects are being implemented in Narayanganj, he said that various roads are being made of international standards. Narayanganj Purbachle is becoming a smart city.

The biggest aspect of metro rail is that it will not pollute the environment, he said, it will be eco-friendly and noiseless.

Mentioning that whenever Awami League comes to the government, the people of the country develop, the head of government said that the Awami League government has developed a communication network across the country.

He said, BNP participated in the 2008 elections. How many seats did the party get in that seat? They won 29 seats and one by-election. So people are voting for us because we have done so much work. We get votes by winning people’s hearts through our work.

Sheikh Hasina thanked everyone for making boat the winner in Bogra and Chapainawabganj by-elections.

Referring to the price inflation in the world market due to Corona, war and sanctions, Sheikh Hasina said that wheat which could be bought for $200 today has to be bought for $600. The ship fare has increased several times. Edible oil, sugar have to be bought at higher prices. That’s why everyone should be frugal. Energy consumption should also be economical. Stating that there is food shortage in the world, the Prime Minister said, we have to increase the production so that this does not happen. We have soil and people, not an inch of our land will remain uncultivated. So that the horror of the war does not affect Bangladesh.

At this time, he said, Bangladesh is moving forward because the democratic trend is unbroken. He reiterated the hope that the country will improve by the middle of 2041.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader presided over the event. ABM Amin Ullah Noori, Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Department, gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
