Mohammad Saeed Khokon, a member of the Central Executive Parliament of Awami League and the former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, said, I have been by the side of the people of Dhaka and the leaders and workers of the party. I will be with you in the future.
He said these things at a discussion meeting at Suritola Model Government Primary School in Old Dhaka on Friday (December 8). Leaders and activists of Awami League and affiliated organizations organized the discussion meeting in Ward No. 34 of Dhaka Metropolitan South.
In the meeting, Syed Khokon said, I always appreciate the people and the party’s grassroots leaders and activists. I will do the same in the future, inshallah. You will always have me as your child and brother. Whether I am in power or not, I will always be by your side.
Saeed Khokon said, my late father Mohammad Hanif was the mayor of Dhaka City Corporation. He was always by your side in happiness and sorrow. In 2015, party president Sheikh Hasina nominated me as the mayor of Dhaka South and urged you to vote. You voted for me as the Mayor of South City Corporation. I served as mayor for five years. I did my best. There was no shortage of effort.
Earlier at noon, Saeed Khokon prayed for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his martyred family members and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the end of Friday prayers at Nazira Bazar Bara Jame Mosque in Old Dhaka.
