Thiruvananthapuram: The closing ceremonies of the International Film Festival are underway in Thiruvananthapuram. The closing ceremony started at 6pm. When chairman Ranjith was invited to the stage for the opening speech of the program inaugurated by minister VN Vasavan, the audience welcomed him with cheers.
Hungarian director Bela Thar will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event presided over by Minister V Sivankutty. Famous writer Mukundan will be the chief guest. Minister K Rajan is the chief guest of the event.
The Bolivian film ‘Utama’ won the Suvarna Chakoram award while Mahesh Narayanan’s ‘Ariyip’ won the Netpac Award for Best Malayalam Film. The best audience award was won by Mammootty and ‘Nanpakal Nereth Mayakkum’ by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
