Sony Launches MDR-M1 Closed-Back Reference Monitoring Headphones

Sony has launched the MDR-M1, closed-back reference monitoring headphones that reproduce ultra-wideband, high-resolution sound.

Optimized for Stereo Recording and Mixing

The MDR-M1 is a reference headphone that can be used in all environments at all stages, including recording, mixing, and mastering of high-quality stereo sound sources. Sony’s studio monitoring headphones MDR-7506 have been the standard in the industry for the past 30 years. However, as high-resolution audio became more common and the demand for home studios to produce their own high-quality audio increased, the need for new professional headphones that responded to these changes emerged.

Sealed Acoustic Structure and Excellent Sound Insulation

The MDR-M1 is a product optimized for stereo recording and mixing with a sealed acoustic structure that suppresses two-way sound leakage. Excellent sound insulation helps you fully immerse yourself in your work while recording or mixing without being disturbed by noise coming from the headphones. The driver unit has an ergonomic design that is positioned inside the ear cup to match the angle of the ear. Additionally, the standard terminal 3.5mm stereo mini plug can be connected to various equipment such as home studios, laptops, headphone amplifiers, etc., and the included 6.3mm stereo standard plug adapter can be used in pro audio devices and is connected with a screw lock to secure the cable.
