The content creator Hyangachi, known for blending historical education with virtual storytelling, has been appointed as the official social media ambassador for the Seoul Museum of History, marking a continued partnership that began in 2023.
Hyangachi, who operates under the concept of a time-traveling official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Korean Empire in 1901, has amassed 476,000 YouTube subscribers through content that reinterprets Korean history in accessible and engaging formats. The appointment was announced on November 11, 2025, by the Seoul Museum of History, which cited Hyangachi’s role in expanding visitor engagement across generations through digital outreach.
Since 2023, Hyangachi has collaborated with the museum on multiple initiatives, including promotional broadcasts for the “Hanyang Women Step Outside the Gate” exhibition and the 2025 “Taepyeonggye Taepyeong” exhibition. The creator has also served as a daily docent for the “Resonance of the Mind, Like Rippling Waves” exhibition, bringing historical narratives to life through character-driven storytelling.
To commemorate the ambassadorship, the museum will host a talk concert titled “Seoul Museum of History × Hyangachi: Talking About Hanyang” on December 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. In the Yajugae Hall. The event is open to the public with free admission, and registration will be available from November 24 to 28 via the Seoul Public Service Reservation System on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Seoul Museum of History emphasized that the collaboration aims to strengthen its image as a citizen-friendly institution by leveraging digital influencers to promote exhibitions and programs at both its main and branch locations. Hyangachi’s content, which often features period-accurate attire and historically grounded narratives, aligns with the museum’s mission to make history accessible to modern audiences.
