Incheon Economic Office begins construction of Songdo RC Sports Stadium and Park Golf Course in the second half of the year

Incheon Today = Reporter Park Gyu-ho│Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will begin construction of the RC car (radio-controlled car) sports stadium and expansion of the park golf course in Moonlight Park in Songdo International City in the second half of this year.

The Incheon Economic Office announced on the 31st that it plans to complete the basic and detailed design for the revitalization of Songdo International City, which has been in progress since June of last year, in the first half of this year, begin construction in the second half of the year, and complete construction in the second half of next year.

RC sports is a general term for wirelessly controlled mini cars, airplanes and boats, and RC car sports are so popular that there are an estimated 500,000 domestic enthusiasts.

The RC Sports Stadium will be created as an on-road circuit capable of hosting world competitions, and the Incheon Economic Office plans to renovate the existing off-road circuit to experience a variety of circuits.

In addition, the Incheon Economic Office will additionally expand the 18 holes of the park golf course in Moonlight Park, which is operated with public certification from the Korea Park Golf Association, to a scale capable of hosting international competitions.

An official from the Incheon Economic Office said, “In the future, we will create a new RC sports stadium and expand the park golf course to create Songdo Moonlight Park as a relaxation space that various generations can enjoy together.”
