New Delhi: It is reported that Virat Kohli will not be present in the first match of the India England ODI series starting tomorrow, July 12. Quoting BCCI sources, news agency PTI reports that the star is out of tomorrow’s ODI match at the Oval due to a groin injury. Kohli did not return to London from Nottingham after the third Twenty20. The actor may undergo further medical examination. On the other hand, only Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur and Pishta Krishna, who were included in the ODI team on Monday, trained at the Nets.

Apart from the Test, the performance of the star in the Twenty20 matches is also being questioned. It has been more than 960 days since the Indian player scored a century in his international career. The last time Kohli scored a century in an international match was in November 2019. While former Indian players including Kapil Dev and Virendra Sehwag have raised concerns over Kohli’s form, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has backed the former captain.
