India Dominates 4th Twenty20 Against Bangladesh, Winning by 56 Runs

Dhaka: India won the 4th Twenty20 against Bangladesh. India won by 56 runs in a match that was shortened to 14 overs due to rain. Malayali player Asha Shobhana, who got her first chance in the series, conceded just 18 runs in three overs and took two wickets. Hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, Asha Vanitha was a member of Royal Challengers Bengaluru team that won the title in IPL. S. is a native of Wayanad. Sajana also made her debut in the competition. Sajana remained unbeaten in the match with eight runs in five balls.

Batting first, Harmanpreet Kaur scored 39 runs, Richa Ghosh scored 24 runs, Hemalatha and Smriti Mandana scored 22 runs each and scored 122 runs in 14 overs. Batting towards a target of 125 runs as per the Duckworth-Lewis rule, Bangladesh managed to score just 68 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Bangladesh could not survive Deepti Sharma and Asha Shobhana who took two wickets, Pooja Vastrakar and Radha Yadav who took one wicket each. This is India’s fourth win in the five-match series. The fifth match will take place on May 9.
