Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag gave an interesting answer to the question why Indian cricketers do not play in foreign leagues. Sehwag’s response was while talking to Adam Gilchrist in a YouTube video. Sehwag replied to Gilchrist’s question that Indians are rich and there is no need to play in foreign leagues.

Gilchrist doubted whether Indian players would be part of foreign leagues in future. “There’s no need for that. We Indians are rich. We don’t go to poor countries.”- said Sehwag with a smile. Sehwag also talked about his experience when he was offered by Big Bash, the Australian cricket league.

“I was playing in the IPL even when I was out of the Indian team. That’s when I got an offer from the Big Bash League. The offer was to pay one hundred thousand dollars. I said the money alone was enough for the holiday expenses. They were also told that the bill for the previous night alone was more than one lakh dollars. ” – revealed Sehwag in the discussion.
