IOK Company, an entertainment agency and drama production company, announced on the 28th that it has filed a request for an injunction against broadcasting for the original TV series ‘Villains’ starring Yoo Ji-tae and Kwak Do-won.
IOK Company said, “‘Villains’ violated the Copyright Act and filed an injunction with the Seoul Central District Court last month for a ban on drama production, distribution and broadcast. We have filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station,” it said.
IOK Company said, “The script we have been working on for 7-8 years and the content of ‘Villains’ is almost identical except for a few fingerprints. “It was sold to me,” he claimed.
Taewon Entertainment, which produced ‘Villains’ with Kim’s script, said, “Writer Kim is not in a position to violate the copyright law at all,” and “both sides agree amicably.”
Crime drama ‘Villains’, based on fake bills, was due for release in the first half of next year.
