Following WWDC 2025, developers are deep into testing the initial iOS 26 beta. For iPhone users eager to preview the latest features, the wait for the public beta isn’t much longer. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the iOS 26 public beta will launch in July.
Historically, apple releases several developer-exclusive betas before opening the program to the public. Based on previous release dates,the first iOS 26 public beta is anticipated between the second and third weeks of July.

To join the public beta, users must enroll their Apple Account in the Apple Beta Software Program. This involves visiting the Apple Beta Software Program website, navigating to Settings, then General, and finally Software Update.From there, users can select “Beta Updates” and enable the iOS 26 Public Beta.
The iOS 26 public beta is expected to showcase a redesigned interface featuring the Liquid Glass UI, a notable departure from iOS 18. The messages app will offer enhanced features, including message screening, poll creation, and unique backgrounds via Image playground. Apple Music receives a revamp, allowing users to pin favorite songs. ChatGPT integration will provide onscreen awareness, and updates to genmoji and Image Playground will enable users to create novel combinations of emoji and descriptions.
