Ireland vs. West Indies T20 Match Abandoned Due to Rain
Persistent heavy rain forced the abandonment of the second T20 cricket match between Ireland and the West Indies on Saturday. No play was possible at Bready.
The match was initially scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. BST, but an hour’s delay preceded a pitch inspection. Officials then deemed the field unplayable at 4 p.m.
This is the second weather-related cancellation in the three-match series. The opening game, also at Bready, was called off Thursday due to wet conditions.
The two teams, who each play a vital role in international cricket, previously split an ODI series in Dublin last month. The third and final game in this series is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m.
What’s next
the teams hope to complete the series with Sunday’s match, weather permitting, as they each prepare for upcoming international competitions. The outcome of the final match will determine each team’s overall role and standing.
