Water is essential to our life. Water contains minerals and vitamins that our body needs, which helps with immune function, metabolism, skin health, and weight loss.

For various reasons, such as environmental pollution, drinking water straight from the faucet is not a bad idea. Usually, there are many households that boil water or use a water purifier. So, which of the two is the better choice? Let’s find out based on what was introduced in The Times of India.

Is tap water okay to drink?

In general, I think it’s okay to drink tap water right away. Because the water treatment facility uses chlorine and fluorine to kill bacteria, I think it is safe and free from bacteria and contamination. However, it can draw in more contaminants as it passes through storage and treatment facilities, and the plumbing that brings water home may not be clean. Of course, several measures are being taken at the government level to provide safe drinking water.

Is it good to boil water?

Boiling water is one of the oldest ways to obtain safe drinking water. This is a method that is often used at home. The main purpose of boiling water is to kill bacteria. When boiling water, it can remove microorganisms that cannot withstand high temperatures, but impurities and other chemicals are not removed by boiling. To disinfect invisible waterborne viruses and bacteria, water must be boiled for at least 20 minutes, and impurities do not dissolve in the process.

So what about purified water?

Water purifiers are known to use various filters to purify water and turn it into drinkable water. It helps to remove impurities, chemicals, and microorganisms from polluted water or tap water and eliminates pathogens.

Recently, various water purifier products that can be used immediately including hot water as well as cold water and ice are attracting attention. In many cases, bottled water is delivered to homes or workplaces on a regular basis. Options for drinking clean water are becoming increasingly diverse.
