Typhoon Nanmadol is not just a Japanese problem.

As the force is so strong, strong winds and heavy rain are also expected in Korea.

The government also activated the second phase of the Central Disaster Countermeasures and Security Headquarters from noon today and raised the emergency alert to the ‘alert’ stage.

Let’s link the regions affected by the typhoon in turn.

Now let’s go to Jeju, where tensions are rising.

Now, reporters are out to Jeju Port from time to time.

Yes, as typhoon ‘Nan Madol’ moves north, Jeju faces a tense night.

Here in Jeju Port, it started to get cloudy in the afternoon, and as time goes on, the wind gets stronger and the waves rise.

You can see that many of the fishing boats that have evacuated here in Jeju Port are now tied up tightly.

In this way, more than 1,000 fishing boats moved to ports and harbors in Jeju Island to avoid typhoons, and 11 out of 12 passenger ships to and from Jeju and other areas were canceled.

Currently, a strong wind advisory has been issued across Jeju Island, a typhoon warning has been issued for the eastern and southern coastal areas of Jeju, and a storm warning has been issued for the northern and western and southern offshore seas Jeju Island.

However, as the typhoon turned more to the east than expected, the preliminary typhoon warning issued for mainland Jeju and the western and northern seas was lifted.

The closest time for Typhoon Nanmadol to Jeju is around 4 am tomorrow, and it is expected to pass through the sea about 330 km southeast of Seogwipo.

Accordingly, it is predicted that strong winds with a maximum wind speed of 90 km/h or more will blow from tonight until tomorrow morning, and rain of up to 40 mm will fall across Jeju Island.

However, flights at Jeju International Airport are still operating as normal.

The Korea Meteorological Administration repeatedly urged warning, saying damage to coastal areas could occur due to storm surges and strong waves between tonight and dawn, as the typhoon approaches.

Until now, sometimes it is MBC news in Jeju Port.
