Ide faced off against Geoff barnes, from Washington D.C., and Chad Heltzel, from Denver, Colorado.
Ide started strong, correctly answering the first question and landing on a Daily Double early in the first round. She confidently wagered $1,000 on a poetry clue, identifying Milton and taking the lead. “I was thrilled to see a poetry category,” Ide said on Reddit, noting she was an English major. However, Barnes, an analyst, overtook her by the round’s end.
