AKRON, Ohio - Miguel Angel Jiménez and Steven Alker finished Saturday’s round tied for the lead at the Kaulig Companies Championship, a PGA Tour Champions major. Jiménez carded a 4-under 66, while Alker shot a 67, putting them both at 8-under 202.
Jiménez, aiming for his fourth victory this year on the 50-and-over tour, had a strong run with birdies on Nos. 7-8 and 10-11 at Firestone South. He then bogeyed the 12th before parring the remaining holes. Earlier this year, the Spanish star won the Trophy Hassan II, the Hoag Classic, and the Principal Charity Classic. He boasts 16 career Champions tour wins.
