K-Drama Star Kwak Si-yang Embroiled in Shocking Domestic Violence Scandal: ‘Good Partner’ Actor Faces Lawsuit
Kwak Si-yang’s Portrayal of a Complex Character in “Good Partner” Raises Questions

In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama “Good Partner,” Kwak Si-yang delivers a passionate performance as Jeong Hwan-so, a complex character accused of domestic violence.
Oh Dae-gyu (Jung Jae-sung) assigns Han Yu-ri (Nam Ji-hyun) to handle the Hwang-so case alone, which leads to a series of events that raises questions about the character’s guilt.
Hwang-so’s wife, Jiyeon (Park Ah-in), claims that her husband committed domestic violence, but there is no concrete evidence to support her allegations. However, when Yu-ri meets Jiyeon at the courthouse, she discovers that Jiyeon suffers from aquaphobia and alopecia areata due to waterboarding.
Yu-ri becomes suspicious of Hwang-so’s testimony and confronts him, leading to a dramatic turn of events. Jung Woo-jin (Kim Jun-han) replaces Eun-kyung with a new lawyer, warning that “lawyers are not objects.”
Eun-kyung initially misunderstands Yu-ri’s intentions but eventually accepts her as co-counsel. During a mediation session, Yu-ri feels frustrated by the limitations of the law and the fear that Ji-yeon exhibits in front of Hwan-so.
Later, Eun-kyung expresses her concerns about Hwang-so’s character to Woo-jin, who responds that a lawyer cannot defend someone based on intuition alone. Eun-kyung’s intuition, however, suggests that Hwang-so might be capable of causing harm.
This episode of “Good Partner” raises important questions about the complexities of domestic violence cases and the challenges that lawyers face in navigating these situations.
