The ‘K Shipbuilding Next Generation Enterprise’ is the government’s first large and medium-sized cooperation platform to implement a major transformation in the future shipbuilding industry. Through this agreement, the government and the three shipbuilding companies decided to invest 9 trillion won over the next five years to ensure a major gap and launch a New Industrial Policy 2.0 in the shipbuilding sector. In addition, in order to secure next generation technology from a medium to long term perspective, the public and private sectors jointly established a ‘shipbuilding industry gap research and development (R&D) road map’ during the first half of the year. , and based on this, developed the world’s first liquefied hydrogen carrier by 2030 and leading the international standard for autonomous ships etc. are planned to be promoted.

In order to prevent production disruptions due to labor shortages, the government set up a system to forecast labor supply and demand in the medium to long term, and employed 2,000 domestic shipbuilders each year through the ‘Future Innovation Talent Training Centre’ and ‘Employment. Contact Training Project for Job Seekers ‘We intend to train specialist production personnel in the field.

In line with this, the industry also decided to run a joint foreign shipbuilding human resource cooperation center on a pilot basis within the first half of the year to ensure a sustainable foreign human resource delivery system that delivers foreign personnel after local training.

Minister Ahn Deok-geun said, “The challenges facing the domestic shipbuilding industry go beyond the level of individual companies and must be overcome through teamwork between the public and private sectors, and the role of the shipbuilding industry is very important in achieving $700 billion in exports this year.” He added, “Over the next 10 years, “As this will determine the next 100 years of the shipbuilding industry, please join us in bringing about a major transformation in the shipbuilding industry.” He continued, “We will regulate the initiative launched today to strengthen K-Shipments’ competitiveness and continue to resolve export and investment difficulties.”

Meanwhile, at this meeting, the government shared with the industry the ’24-year action plan of the ‘K Shipbuilding Next Generation Leadership Strategy’ published in November last year and made a plan to quickly produce visible results within the year in such areas. such as technology, human resources, finance, coexistence, and legal system.

In addition, the government surveys the industry and strategies to stimulate orders and exports, and establishes an investment difficulties desk and an on-site difficulties desk in the Shipbuilding Association and five regions across the country, respectively. specifically, difficulties on site have been thoroughly managed by designating working level officers from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as appointed officers for each company. I decided to do that.
