Kang Ha-neul, who proved the true value of ‘Insider’… It exploded right from the first broadcast!

‘Insider’ presented the essence of thrilling and intense action suspense.

JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Insider’ (directed by Min Yeon-hong, written by Moon Man-se, produced by Ace Factory SLL) was first aired on the 8th, amid enthusiastic reviews. Hell was waiting for Kim Yo-han (Kang Ha-neul), who started infiltrating in pursuit of his beliefs. His struggle to overcome the crises and difficulties he took with every step he took was desperate and intense. Above all, the betrayal of Kim Yo-han, an undercover who infiltrated Seongju Prison in accordance with the instructions of the superior for justice, and Mok Jin-hyeong (Kim Sang-ho), who cut the connection with him and reset all plates, gave a shocking reversal from the start.

This day’s broadcast opened with the appearance of fugitive Kim Yo-han. The starting point of everything was a year ago, when Yohan Kim entered the house that was converted into a temple. Where the desires of people from all walks of life come and go in the chief’s hand and cash, Kim Yo-han was there with his classmate Hong Jae-sun (Kang Shin-hyo). Kim Yo-han, with his unpredictable poker face and relaxed attitude, quickly caught the attention of Oh Soo-yeon (Lee Yoo-young), who was in the same spot, as well as the house manager Jo Ha-do (Han Jae-young). Jo Hae-do, who put Kim Woo-sang (Yoon Byeong-hee), a ‘blind’ person, to the appearance of a new face that disturbs the atmosphere. However, Kim Yo-han soon discovered the fraudulent activities of Kim Woo-sang and his companion Um Ik-soo (Han Kyu-won). He focused his attention on showmanship that even took out his cell phone camera, and at that moment, a wide-area investigation team stormed into the house. Even in the midst of everyone’s confusion, Yohan Kim’s calm appearance showed that even this was his ‘pan’.

Kim Yo-han’s identity was a judicial trainee and an ‘insider’ who was secretly put into the investigation. It was Noh Young-guk (Yoo Jae-myung), the director of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, and Mok Jin-hyeong, the prosecutor who instructed him on the operation. Their target was Yang-jun (Heo Dong-won), chairman of The Skin Nation, and more precisely, Hong Sang-wook (Park Seong-geun), the head of the central investigation department and sponsor prosecutor behind him. He tried to use Yang-jun as a bait to bring down Hong Sang-wook, who opposes the establishment of the Corruption Investigation Agency. Kim Yo-han approached Hong Jae-sun, Hong Sang-wook’s son, and succeeded in infiltrating the house, but Yang-jun had already escaped when the Kwang-su squad was put in. On the occasion of the anniversary of Kim Yo-han’s father, Kim Tae-soo (Song Jae-hee), who just returned, Kim Yo-han and Kim Tae-soo’s colleagues, Mok Jin-hyung and Noh Young-guk, gathered together. Mok Jin-hyung took out the name ‘Lee Tae-kwang’ secretly. He offered a ‘deal’ to Mok Jin-hyung to get him out of prison on condition of the video evidence of Yang-jun’s gambling, but he lost contact at some point. Despite Noh Young-guk’s disapproving attitude, Mok Jin-hyeong asked Kim Yo-han’s intentions, saying, “Why don’t you take what you started one step further?” It was an order to infiltrate Seongju Prison disguised as a proposal.

There was not a long time for contemplation. The poisonous Jo Ha-do appeared in front of Kim Yo-han and his grandmother Shin Dal-su (Jesus-su-jeong). He demanded ‘compensation’ from Kim Yo-han, and he went to his grandmother Shin Dal-su in broad daylight and pressured Kim Yo-han. As the life and death of the one and only family was at stake, Kim Yo-han’s faith was shaken. In the end, Kim Yo-han said that he would give up the investigation into Seongju Prison infiltration. Mok Jin-hyeong became very angry at this, but Noh Young-guk calmly respected his will and said that we should return to the original state. It was Noh Young-guk who sensed an unusual atmosphere as the whereabouts of some people who had already agreed with them became unclear.

And that night, the news of Noh Young-guk’s death came. It was an unbelievable sign that he took his own life. Mok Jin-hyung pointed to Yoon Byung-wook (Heo Seong-tae), the chief prosecutor of the 2nd division of the financial tax investigation, as the cause of the incident. “You, me, and your grandmother. The three of us salamun Lee Tae-kwang video, we need to get our hands on it soon. Isn’t it something that the UK has to do even for his brother?” He urged Kim Yo-han to infiltrate Seongju Prison once again. Kim Yo-han is confused by Noh Young-guk’s accident that overlaps with the mysterious death of his father Kim Tae-soo in the past. This was a reminder of his father’s words, “If you do nothing, nothing changes”, and finally he headed to Seongju Prison, where he could break all chains of misery.

However, the ‘guest’ Yoon Byung-wook who came to Mok Jin-hyung changed everything. He burst into laughter even in front of senior jockey Mok Jin-hyung, saying, “Kim Yo-han, is that your bomb? It’s you who will die when it explodes.” After that, Yoon Byung-wook visited Kim Yo-han in person. Even in the face of Yoon Byung-wook, who tried to convince him to return to the training center, Kim Yo-han did not waver at all. The collapse was on the other side. After meeting Yoon Byung-wook, Mok Jin-hyung, who hurried out on the road, headed to the hideout of the secret group Sajik-dong to which he belonged. The base of the supporters of the Corruption Investigation Agency was where the files related to Kim Yo-han’s investigation into the Seongju Prison were buried. And the reason Mok Jin-hyung headed to the hideout was to delete the file. As Yoon Byeong-wook threatened, Mok Jin-hyung threw away Kim Yo-han in order not to get hurt by a ‘bomb’. The appearance of Kim Yo-han, who entered Seongju Prison without knowing this fact, raised curiosity about the tough battle that would be unfolding in front of him in the future.

‘Insider’ captivated viewers from the first broadcast with its unstoppable development. At the center of it all was Kang Ha-neul’s performance. Kim Yo-han’s chaotic action, as well as his chasing action in a turbulent situation, was enough to prove his true worth. The synergy of the acting masters also maximized the sense of immersion. Lee Yoo-young imprinted Oh Soo-yeon’s character in her mind with her unique aura. Heo Seong-tae as Yoon Byung-wook, who created a new type of villain with a cool gaze beyond glasses and a languid tone, Kim Sang-ho as Mok Jin-hyeong, who portrayed the selfish instincts hidden behind his simple appearance, Noh Young-guk, who perfectly unraveled the dramatic narrative of the character with only a brief appearance. Even Yoo Jae-myung, who played the role, was absolutely perfect.

Kim Yo-han, who has entered a deeper abyss than expected due to the betrayal of the same side. There, he was waiting for the servants of Johae-do, who were entangled with him. Attention is focused on what awaits in the future of Kim Yo-han, who risked his fate in the game of defeat.

The second episode of JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Insider’ will be broadcast at 10:30 pm on the 9th.
