The children were presented with bouquets of flowers and handlooms, and the touching gesture of 6th standard student Albin Antony presenting a gift to the Prime Minister encapsulated the spirit of New Kerala’s vision.

Addressing Grievances and Envisioning a Progressive Future

The event also provided a platform for the people to voice their concerns, with specially prepared counters set up to receive complaints. Local Self Government Minister MB Rajesh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil and Sports Minister V Abdur Rahiman addressed the audience and ensured a non-adversarial approach to resolving issues. A dedicated help desk counter was also established to guide and assist those seeking to make a complaint, with a focus on prioritizing the elderly and women.

Educational Reforms to Foster Job Skills

Meanwhile, District Collector N Devidas emphasized the government’s commitment to revamping the education system to align with the goal of fostering job skills. Inaugurating the Student Leadership Camp and Career Masters Training Program, Devidas highlighted the importance of vocational secondary curriculum and the need to provide direction to children in choosing a profession aligned with their interests. The two-day leadership training camp for selected students and the career orientation training program for teachers exemplified the proactive approach towards shaping the future workforce.

In Payyannur, the first reception of the cylch, thousands of women and children from different parts of society flocked from different parts of the constituency since the morning. The streets of Payyannur were literally packed with people.

The prime minister and ministers were welcomed to the stage with Johnson Punchakkad playing the flute. The children were received with bouquets of flowers and handlooms. Albin Antony, a 6th standard student of Tirumeni St. School presented. Anthony, a gift to the Prime Minister containing a photograph of Nava Keralam. The congregation was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The event was addressed by Local Self Government Minister MB Rajesh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil and Sports Minister V Abdur Rahiman. Complaints were received through specially prepared counters as part of the audience. 20 counters have been set up to receive complaints.

There was also a dedicated help desk counter to provide instructions and a necessary ticket to those who come to make a complaint. The counters were set up giving priority to the elderly and women who are more capable. The complaints started from 8 am. Service was provided at the counters in a non-adversarial manner.

Education policy aimed at developing job skills is the government’s objective: District Collector

District Collector N Devidas said that the government’s aim is to create a new education policy for developing job skills by deviating from the old education system. He was inaugurating the Student Leadership Camp and Career Masters Training Program organized by the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell of the Jawahar Vocational Higher Secondary Department Bala Bhavan.

The ultimate goal of the learning process should be to get a job. Vocational secondary curriculum aims at the concept of learning by doing. This can be done by organizing training programs to give direction to the children. The collector said that the children should choose the profession according to their own interests.

A two-day leadership training camp was organized for selected students from schools in the area. A career orientation training program was also held for teachers in care of a career master. VHSE Assistant Director OS Chitra presided. Mathew Abraham, Area Coordinator of the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell, State Coordinator VS Santhosh, Program Committee Convener GR Abhilash, teachers, students from various schools and others participated.
