Kasarakote did not enter cinema because of drug addiction. Sudheesh said that because of the beauty of this country and because of the courage and enthusiasm of those who loved the film.
Perhaps the visual beauty of the Kasaragod hinterland, the sights of the cultural remains, and the cooperation of the people motivated the filmmakers to look here. Sudheesh says that when Ratheesh Balakrishna Phudhuwal’s Payyannur shot on Android Kunjappan was a huge success, a new group of filmmakers from the region including Kasaragod was formed. Sudheesh said M Ranjith’s statement is an insult to common people and film workers of this country.

A number of artists who have proved their talent through plays, Anushtana arts like Theyyam, the energetic physical language given to the artists of this country, the friendly community of literary/art/drama/cultural workers of North Malabar, the young people who drove from the soil of Kasaragod with passion for cinema and grew up to be independent directors, casting decision makers etc. Some other positive factors of the film come here. When Ratheesh Balakrishna Phuduwal’s Payyannoor shot Android Kunjappan became a huge hit, a new group of filmmakers from the region including Kasaragod came into existence. The optimistic belief that gave them that success brought their new films north. Even for great actors, the imprinted Malayalam language was a major hindrance to their performances. When the setting of the story became their own country and the language became their own spoken language, the actors of North Malabar showed special talent on screen and became shining stars.
Advancement in technology, facilities in film making process, easy access of big stars to Kasaragod through Kannur Airport, star hotels in Bekal and Nileswaram district for your stay, confidence given to successful film makers are all other reasons that came with more films to Kasaragod Payyannur region.
Cinema is also our cultural activity. We have changed the old name Failure Location to Dosham and Vijaya Location. Films are constantly being produced here. Today, cinema is the day of many people in Kasaragod and it is the passion of artists.
The reason why I am making a film in my home country is because I believe that this country will stand with my film. All my crew members stayed at home during the shoot, Kasarakote had good people and they gave me the house to live in. That was a big reason for reducing the budget of my film. Madanolsavam is the least expensive film for younger actresses because people from all walks of life came and collaborated with us. That’s how they walk with art on their chests. Any other kind of propaganda is completely false and insulting to the common people and film workers of this country.

M Ranjith’s comment about Kasaragod was in an interview given to the YouTube channel called Movie World Media. This was after actors Sreenath Bhasi and Shane were banned. Ranjith said that he would not cooperate with actors who are drug addicts and that Srinath Bhasi and Shane Nigam were creating difficulties for his colleagues including the producers. When asked about the same, “Not only in the film industry, but also in newspapers every day that drugs are caught here and there. Now many films are shot in Kasaragod. After all, this stuff is easy to find. To come from Mangalore or elsewhere. The shooting location started moving there. Not Kasaragod’s problem.
